After the Inferno

They say that long ago, the fire chose certain women instead of consuming them.

It tested them. It left smoke on their skin, scars along their hands, and marks no amount of polishing could erase. Most people mistook those marks for flaws. But the elders knew better.

They were proof that she had walked through the hottest parts of her life and refused to disappear. This ring carries those same marks.

The firescale along the band was never hidden. The silver still remembers the heat that shaped it. The stone burns with deep crimson, its natural patterns twisting like a firestorm across the desert. Near its highest edge, almost hidden, is the smallest trace of yellow. Some never notice it. But those who do understand. 

Hope was never meant to be loud. Sometimes it survives as nothing more than a single ember waiting for the right breath to become a wildfire again.

Inside the band, hidden against the skin, rests a single feather.

The old stories say feathers appear only after the fire has finished its work—not as a sign to forget what happened, but as proof that the spirit remained untouched.

The world may remember the flames.
