City of Iowa City ARPA Awardee

We are thrilled to announce that The House of Dotlizhi has been awarded a grant of $100,000 from the City of Iowa City ARPA fund to be spent by 2026! This generous funding will allow us to further our mission of celebrating and promoting Indigenous culture through three key initiatives:

Entrepreneurial Cultural Workshops

We will host workshops designed to empower Indigenous entrepreneurs by providing them with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their ventures. These workshops will cover a range of topics, including business management, marketing, and traditional craftsmanship techniques.

Cultural Outreach Activities

Our outreach programs will bring Indigenous culture to a broader audience. Through events, educational sessions, and community projects, we aim to foster greater understanding and appreciation of Indigenous heritage and traditions.

Grants to Small Indigenous Businesses

We will provide financial support to small Indigenous-owned businesses who reside in Iowa City, helping them grow and thrive. These grants will enable businesses to expand their operations, invest in new opportunities, and contribute to the economic development of their communities.
This grant represents a significant opportunity to make a lasting impact on the Indigenous community by supporting cultural preservation, entrepreneurship, and education. We are deeply grateful for this support and look forward to sharing more updates on our progress and upcoming activities.
